Motorola is gearing up to expand its Edge 60 series lineup with the upcoming launch of the Motorola Edge 60 and Edge 60s smartphones. These monikers have now been officially spotted on the HDR10+ certification website, indicating an imminent release. While Motorola has already introduced the Edge 60 Stylus and Edge 60 Fusion models in India, the base variant and the Edge 60s are expected to follow soon.
According to the HDR10+ listing, the Motorola Edge 60 is likely to see a global release, including the Indian market, whereas the Edge 60s model might be exclusive to China. While the certification doesn’t offer in-depth hardware details, earlier leaks have provided significant insights into what these devices might offer.
The Motorola Edge 60 is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and as much as 512GB of onboard storage. It may run on Android 15 with Motorola’s custom Hello UI skin on top. The device could house a 5,200mAh battery with support for 68W fast charging, aligning with Motorola’s recent trend of equipping phones with rapid-charging tech.
The camera setup is another area where the Motorola Edge 60 might shine. It’s tipped to feature a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia 700C primary rear sensor and a 50-megapixel front-facing camera, promising high-quality imaging on both ends. Additionally, the phone could sport a 6.7-inch curved pOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (2,712 x 1,220 pixels) and a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering an immersive visual experience.
Built with durability in mind, the handset is also expected to come with MIL-STD 810H certification, ensuring it can withstand harsh conditions. As Motorola is set to host a launch event on April 24, there is speculation that the Edge 60 might be unveiled alongside the Edge 60 Pro and Razr 60 Ultra, the latter of which also appears on the HDR10+ certification site.
With its robust features and premium build, the Motorola Edge 60 is shaping up to be a strong contender in the upper mid-range smartphone market.
