Fans of the spooky and witty series Wednesday can now mark their calendars as Netflix has officially announced the release date for Season 2 of the hit horror-comedy show. The announcement cleverly dropped on April 23 which happened to fall on a Wednesday with the release of a teaser trailer and exclusive first-look images creating a buzz among viewers.
Wednesday Season 2 will be split into two parts with Part 1 arriving on Netflix on August 6 followed by Part 2 premiering on September 3. The new trailer offers a glimpse into what’s to come promising more dark humor supernatural twists and character growth for the beloved Addams Family.
Jenna Ortega reprises her role as the iconic Wednesday Addams and is also stepping into the role of producer this season. In a conversation with Tudum she shared her enthusiasm about returning to the role stating that playing Wednesday is both exciting and challenging. She described the character as one of the coolest and sharpest personalities she’s ever portrayed bringing intelligence wit and a mysterious edge to the screen.
Season 2 will delve deeper into the Addams Family legacy by expanding character arcs and introducing new faces. Among the notable additions is Joanna Lumley who joins the cast as Hester Frump Morticia Addams’ mother. According to series co-creator Alfred Gough this season will broaden the narrative scope allowing more character exploration beyond Wednesday herself.
