Netflix has finally confirmed the complete cast lineup for its upcoming coming-of-age drama The Body, directed and created by Quinn Shephard. After being officially announced in May 2025, the much-anticipated series is now preparing for production, promising a dark, emotional, and thrilling storyline.
According to Variety, the series will feature Kristina Bogic, Sara Boustany, Geena Meszaros, Nnamdi Asomugha, Louisa Krause, Shirley Chen, Jackson Kelly, and Sofia Wylie in major roles. Kristina Bogic will portray the lead character Anya Butler, a student at a Catholic school whose life takes a shocking turn following a disturbing initiation ritual.
The show’s official synopsis reveals, “After a dance team initiation goes horribly wrong, a group of rebellious Catholic school girls begin experiencing prophetic visions that trigger mass hysteria in their small town.”
Recurring cast members include Kyra Pierce, Phallon Pierce, Marcel Ruiz, Orlando Norman, and Gabby Windey, who will add depth and intrigue to the narrative.
The Body is an eight-episode psychological drama that delves into themes of faith, guilt, identity, and redemption, exploring how trauma and belief collide in unexpected ways.
Behind the camera, Quinn Shephard serves as both writer and executive producer, alongside Peter Chernin, Amy Israel, and Josh Stern from North Road. Additionally, Riley Keough, Gina Gammell, and Sacha Ben Harroche from Felix Culpa will co-produce, with Blair Breard also joining the production team.
Shephard, who began her career as an actress, is best known for her direction of Not Okay and Blame, as well as producing Under the Bridge, a series that received a Gotham Award nomination for Breakthrough Limited Series.
