Flydubai has unveiled its latest direct flight route to Basel, Switzerland, marking the first time a UAE airline has serviced this destination. This new service expands the airline’s network into Switzerland and represents its initial foray into the Baltic region. Starting October 11, flydubai will also begin direct flights to Riga International Airport in Latvia and Tallinn Airport in Estonia.
Departing from Dubai International Airport, the airline will operate a four-times-weekly service to EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Additionally, Emirates will provide codeshare opportunities, enhancing connectivity through Dubai’s global aviation hub.
Basel, renowned as Switzerland’s cultural epicenter, is strategically located near the borders of France and Germany. The city is celebrated for its vibrant art and historical scene, featuring numerous galleries and museums.
Flights to Basel are now available for booking, with one-way fares starting around AED 1,115 (as of August 2024).
In addition to the Basel route, flydubai announced new flights to two popular destinations in Iran starting September. The airline will commence four-times-weekly flights to Kish Island from September 7 and a twice-weekly service to Kerman from September 9.
Kish Island is famed for its picturesque coastline, pristine beaches, and diverse wildlife. As a free-trade zone, it offers visa-free travel for up to 14 days, making it a favored spot for shopping and leisure.
