UK-based tech company Nothing is gearing up to launch its third-generation smartphone, the Nothing Phone 3, on July 1 in India and other global markets. Ahead of the official debut, the brand has teased a major design change, indicating a shift from its distinctive Glyph interface that set earlier models apart.
A recent teaser posted by Nothing on X (formerly Twitter) highlights “ultra-precise engineering” and showcases a partial view of the rear panel of the upcoming Phone 3. The image reveals a dual-tone design with visible geometric lines and cuts, hinting at a more minimalistic approach. This visual suggests that the new model will not feature the LED-based Glyph interface, which was one of the most recognizable aspects of the Nothing Phone 1 and Phone 2.
Nothing has confirmed that it is dropping the Glyph Interface in its upcoming flagship. The Glyph design was previously known for offering a unique lighting pattern for notifications and interactions. This move marks a bold departure from the signature design language that helped Nothing establish a distinct identity in the crowded smartphone market.
The Nothing Phone 3 is expected to feature a flagship-level chipset and a robust battery capacity reportedly over 5,000mAh. It may also sport a triple rear camera setup that includes a periscope telephoto lens—an upgrade aimed at enhancing mobile photography capabilities.
Set to be available in India via Flipkart, the device is rumored to be priced around GBP 800 (approximately ₹90,000). For context, the previous model, the Nothing Phone 2, launched in July 2022 with a starting price of ₹44,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant.
Additionally, the launch event is likely to see the unveiling of Nothing Headphone 1, expanding the brand’s hardware ecosystem. While complete specifications are yet to be revealed, Nothing is expected to drop more teaser updates in the coming days.
