The upcoming OnePlus Nord 6 is expected to arrive soon as the successor to the OnePlus Nord 5. Recent leaks suggest the device may launch in April and could share most of its core hardware with the China exclusive OnePlus Turbo 6.
According to well known tech tipster Yogesh Brar, the upcoming Nord model is likely to be based on the same specifications as the Turbo 6. OnePlus has previously followed a similar strategy by launching rebranded versions of its China only Turbo series smartphones in global markets under the Nord branding.
If the reports are accurate the Nord 6 could feature a large 6.78 inch full HD plus flexible AMOLED display with a sharp pixel density and a high refresh rate of up to 165Hz. The screen is also expected to offer peak brightness levels of around 1800 nits which would improve outdoor visibility and multimedia viewing.
Powering the smartphone may be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset combined with an Adreno 825 GPU. The device could also offer up to 16GB of RAM along with storage options that may reach up to 512GB making it suitable for heavy multitasking gaming and high performance usage.
In terms of photography the base hardware may include a 50 megapixel primary camera paired with an additional secondary sensor. However some reports suggest the global variant might replace the monochrome sensor with an ultra wide camera to provide more versatility for photography.
For selfies the Nord 6 may feature a different front camera sensor compared to the 16 megapixel unit found on the Turbo 6. This change could be introduced specifically for international markets including India.
Another major highlight could be the large 9000mAh battery supported by fast charging technology capable of delivering up to 80W charging speeds.
Although the company has not officially confirmed the launch yet the handset has reportedly appeared on multiple certification and benchmarking platforms which often indicates that a release announcement could be approaching soon.
