OnePlus has officially launched the OxygenOS 16 Open Beta program in India, allowing users of the OnePlus 13, 13s, 13R, 12, 12R, and OnePlus Open to experience the latest Android 16-based operating system before its wide release. The stable version of OxygenOS 16 is set to roll out on October 16, 2025, with the OnePlus 15 being the first handset to feature the OS out of the box.
The OxygenOS 16 Open Beta brings a redesigned user interface with updated Gallery, Notes, and Weather apps, alongside enhanced AI-powered features including Google Gemini, AI optimizations, and new productivity tools. Users participating in the beta can provide valuable feedback to help OnePlus refine performance, improve stability, and optimize new features prior to the official release.
Eligible users must ensure their device runs the latest software version CPH2649_15.0.0.860(EX01), back up their data, and have a minimum 30 percent battery and 4GB of free storage. OnePlus cautions that beta software may cause temporary issues, including app crashes, lag, heating, black screens, or increased battery drain, due to background optimizations. Users are advised to restart the device after charging for two hours with the screen off to restore normal performance.
To apply for the OxygenOS 16 Open Beta, navigate to Settings > About Device > Up to date, then tap the menu icon, select Beta Program, and follow the on-screen instructions. Approved users will receive the OTA update and can install the beta on their devices immediately. The program is open until October 13, 2025, giving users a limited window to participate and preview the upcoming features of OxygenOS 16.
