Oppo Set to Launch Find X9 Series With Potential 200MP Main or Periscope Camera Later This Year
The tech world is buzzing with leaks surrounding Oppo’s highly anticipated Find X9 smartphone series, expected to debut towards the end of 2025. According to reliable tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo, the next-gen flagship lineup could be equipped with either a 200-megapixel main camera sensor or a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, a significant leap in mobile photography.
These revelations follow the successful launch of the Oppo Find X8 and X8 Pro, which were unveiled in India last November. Both phones featured the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset and offered powerful camera setups. The X8 came with a triple rear camera configuration, while the Pro model boasted a quad rear camera system with premium Sony sensors.
If the leaks are accurate, the upcoming Find X9 family could include the Find X9, Find X9 Plus, Find X9 Pro, and Find X9 Ultra. The choice between a high-resolution main sensor or an ultra-detailed zoom lens could appeal to photography enthusiasts looking for sharper images and better zoom performance.
Oppo has reportedly secured the necessary components for this powerful imaging system, and development seems well underway. The new series may also build on Oppo’s recently introduced Lumo Image Engine, which will first appear in the Find X8 Ultra and Find X8s models, scheduled to launch in China on April 10.
To compare, the Oppo Find X8 Pro includes a LYT-808 sensor, a Sony IMX858 periscope, and two 50MP additional lenses. The upcoming X9 series is expected to elevate this further with cutting-edge camera tech and potentially new design enhancements, all while running on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15.
The Find X9 lineup is also expected to retain top-tier features like a tri-state alert slider, large battery capacities (possibly exceeding 5,900mAh), and IP68 and IP69 ratings for superior water and dust resistance.
As the launch date approaches, all eyes will be on Oppo to see how the Find X9 series competes with other premium flagships in the ultra-high-end smartphone market. Stay tuned for more updates as Oppo prepares to officially unveil the next chapter in its Find X legacy.
