The upcoming Pico 4S mixed reality headset, developed by ByteDance’s subsidiary Pico, has recently surfaced online through leaked images, revealing a design that seems to draw inspiration from Apple’s Vision Pro. The leaked visuals highlight a sleek front glass panel featuring six embedded cameras, with two cameras positioned centrally and two more placed at the top and bottom, respectively. The headset also includes a USB Type-C port on the right side and a button on the left side, alongside a cushioning cup for enhanced user comfort.
The Pico 4S is expected to launch soon, as earlier reports mentioned its listing on a South Korean certification website, providing insights into its specifications. The headband of the headset is shown with thick cushioning at the back and a dial for adjustable fitting, ensuring comfort for extended use.
Additionally, the images suggest that the Pico 4S will come with ringless controllers, similar to those found on other mixed reality headsets like the Meta Quest 3 and HTC Vive XR Elite. The controllers feature a four-button configuration, with two buttons likely for operational controls and two for UI navigation, along with a joystick and a trigger at the lower half.
Reportedly, the Pico 4S will include accessories such as wrist straps for the controllers and a carry case in a grey color. The headset is rumored to be powered by an upgraded version of the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset, which also powers the Meta Quest 3. This chipset is said to include two 2.05GHz cores and four 2.36GHz cores, coupled with 12GB of RAM, promising a robust performance for immersive mixed-reality experiences.
