The movie, featuring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Amitabh Bachchan, continues to attract audiences and will have a sequel to further the storyline.
Kalki 2898 AD’s box office performance remains strong as it enters its fifth week. Vyjayanthi Movies, the producers, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the film has grossed over ₹1100 crore worldwide. They shared a poster of Prabhas and Deepika from a pivotal climax scene, celebrating the film’s epic run. The movie had previously crossed the ₹1000 crore mark on its 15th day.
The story revolves around Bhairava, a bounty hunter aiming to earn enough units to live in the Complex, ruled by Kamal’s Supreme Yaskin. Accompanied by his AI droid Bujji, voiced by Keerthy Suresh, Bhairava’s life takes a turn when he meets SU-M80, a pregnant test subject played by Deepika, and Ashwatthama, portrayed by Amitabh. The film concludes with a cliffhanger, hinting at more revelations in the sequel, including Bhairava’s possible reincarnation as Karna and Yaskin’s darker side resembling Krishna. The movie has enjoyed a successful box office run both in India and internationally, aided by favorable reviews from critics and audiences.
