Amazon Prime Video has officially stepped into a new global phase with the unveiling of its first-ever international slate dedicated entirely to non-English content. Announced during a special showcase in London the presentation highlighted upcoming films and series from across Asia Europe and Latin America with strong representation from India South Korea Japan and beyond.
Titled Prime Video Presents International Originals 2026 the event was streamed worldwide and featured exclusive appearances and interviews with global talent including Alia Bhatt Stanley Tucci Nicole Wallace and acclaimed author Mercedes Ron. The slate signals Prime Video’s growing investment in international storytelling aimed at reaching audiences far beyond English-language markets.
Among the most headline-grabbing announcements was the revival of the iconic Colombian series Yo Soy Betty La Fea which is returning for a third season more than two decades after its original finale. Ana Maria Orozco reprises her legendary role bringing renewed attention to a franchise that inspired global adaptations including India’s Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin.
South Korea continues to be a major focus with several new series lined up including psychological thriller Siren’s Kiss meta romantic comedy Absolute Value of Romance and the workplace-themed drama See You at Work Tomorrow. These additions strengthen Prime Video’s growing Korean content library following the global success of K-dramas.
Japan’s anime fans also have much to look forward to with Prime Video securing worldwide rights to a reboot of Fist of the North Star along with a fresh adaptation of The Ghost in the Shell. Meanwhile Mexico is preparing for the theatrical release of Vengeance the first Amazon Original film produced entirely in the country.
India’s presence comes through Alia Bhatt’s production house which is backing the coming-of-age drama Don’t Be Shy marking her first collaboration with the streaming platform. The project underlines Prime Video’s focus on locally rooted stories with global appeal.
Another standout is Masterplan a France-Italy co-production directed by Thomas Vincent and starring Stanley Tucci as a father attempting to reunite with his estranged children through an audacious plan to steal the Mona Lisa. The project is already generating strong international buzz.
