Samsung’s next flagship smartphone is already generating strong buzz ahead of its official unveiling and fresh clues now point towards the chipset powering the top-end model. Qualcomm has indirectly indicated that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature a Snapdragon processor, strengthening earlier leaks around the device.
Samsung is set to host its Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event on February 25 where it is expected to introduce the Galaxy S26 lineup including the Galaxy S26 Galaxy S26 Plus and the Galaxy S26 Ultra alongside new Galaxy Buds. While Samsung has not yet officially confirmed the naming or full specifications the presence of Qualcomm in the promotional buildup has drawn attention.
The US chipmaker recently reshared Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2026 announcement with a teaser caption suggesting a major reveal. This move is widely being interpreted as confirmation that at least one model in the Galaxy S26 series will be powered by a Snapdragon chipset. Historically Samsung reserves Snapdragon processors for its Ultra flagship models in most markets while standard and Plus variants may use Exynos chips.
Based on industry trends and previous launches the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to debut with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor. This next-generation chipset is rumoured to be built on an advanced 3nm process and designed to deliver major improvements in performance power efficiency and AI-driven features.
Leaks also suggest that the Galaxy S26 Ultra could retain a 5000mAh battery with support for 60W wired fast charging. On the front the phone may feature a large 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate high resolution visuals and enhanced durability through Gorilla Armor protection.
In terms of photography the flagship is tipped to include a quad rear camera system led by a 200-megapixel main sensor supported by ultra-wide and telephoto lenses designed for long-range zoom and detailed imaging. As with all pre-launch information these details should be treated cautiously until Samsung makes its official announcement later this month.
