Qualcomm Unveils Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 With 144Hz Display and Wi-Fi 6E Support

Qualcomm announces Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset with 36 percent faster CPU 59 percent better GPU 144Hz display Wi-Fi 6E support 200MP camera and advanced connectivity features for Android smartphones

Qualcomm has introduced its latest Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, designed to deliver enhanced performance and cutting-edge features for budget and mid-range Android smartphones. Built on a 4nm process with a 64-bit octa-core Kryo CPU, the chipset achieves a peak clock speed of 2.4GHz on its four performance cores, while the four efficiency cores run at 1.8GHz. Qualcomm claims 36 percent higher CPU performance and 59 percent improved GPU performance compared to the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3.

The Adreno GPU integrated into the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 supports OpenGL ES 3.2, Vulkan 1.1, and OpenCL 2.0 FP APIs, along with HDR gaming, 10-bit colour depth, and hardware-accelerated H.265 and VP9 decoding. Smartphones powered by this chipset can support 144Hz Full HD+ displays, LPDDR5 RAM at 3200MHz, UFS 3.1 storage, and single camera sensors up to 200 megapixels or dual 16-megapixel cameras. A triple 12-bit Spectra ISP allows for hardware-based multi-frame noise reduction and H.264 video capture.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, Bluetooth LE, 5G mmWave, and NavIC satellite support, along with compatibility for QZSS, Galileo, Beidou, GLONASS, and GPS systems. The chipset also supports Quick Charge 4+ via USB Type-C, and offers advanced biometric security through Qualcomm 3D Sonic Sensor and 3D Sonic Sensor Max. Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 promises to bring a high-performance experience to affordable Android smartphones with next-generation display, camera, and connectivity features.
