Ralf Schumacher opened up about life following his brother Michael Schumacher’s tragic ski accident, highlighting their strong bond during their youth and F1 careers. The Schumacher brothers made history as the first siblings to win F1 races and secure a one-two finish in the same race. However, their lives changed dramatically after Michael’s accident in the French Alps, which led to severe head injuries. Since then, Michael’s health has remained private, with minimal public appearances. Recently, Michael attended his daughter’s wedding, marking his first public appearance since the accident.
In an interview with German magazine Bunte, Ralf expressed his mixed feelings: “Unfortunately, sometimes life isn’t fair. We have to accept it. When I see his children Gina-Maria and Mick, my heart smiles. If someone in the family is looking for my advice, I’m there. They go their own way.” Ralf shared that he deeply misses the Michael of the old days, reminiscing about how Michael was not just a brother but also a coach and mentor in kart racing.
Ralf has also made headlines recently for coming out as gay, leading to a public dispute with his ex-wife Cora. The couple, who divorced in 2015, faced increased tension after Ralf announced his relationship with French business manager Etienne. Cora expressed feeling betrayed, stating she felt used during their marriage and questioned Ralf’s honesty. Ralf countered by sharing screenshots of a WhatsApp exchange suggesting Cora had previously congratulated him on his new relationship.
Ralf has since decided to sell the house he once shared with Cora, now listed for €4.85 million (£4.07 million) by Marlies Muhr Real Estate.
