Sony Pictures made waves at the New York Comic Con by unveiling new footage for its highly anticipated film, Karate Kid: Legends. Scheduled for release on May 30, 2025, the film marks the return of Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso and Jackie Chan as Mr. Han, a character he first portrayed in the 2010 reboot, according to Deadline. This film aims to bridge the different versions of the Karate Kid saga.
The first-look poster, featuring both Chan and Macchio alongside rising star Ben Wang, was also revealed. The trailer opens in a martial arts academy, where Mr. Han takes Ben Wang under his wing. Attendees were given a nostalgic nod with glimpses of Macchio and a tribute to Pat Morita’s legendary character. Chan’s voiceover resonates with the question, “In life, you only have one question: Is it worth fighting for or not?”
The trailer teases a mix of thrilling action and poignant moments, indicating a new chapter in the Karate Kid legacy. While the trailer was exclusive to the Comic Con audience, the studio released a captivating first-look poster to the public.
In addition to Karate Kid: Legends, Sony presented footage from other upcoming projects, including Kraven the Hunter. Aaron Taylor-Johnson surprised fans by discussing his role in the film.
