These chicken tikka stuffed naans come together in just 30 minutes, giving you a crispy, golden delight without the guilt. The soft naan pockets are filled with spiced chicken tikka and sealed before being cooked on a tawa to perfection.

Chicken Tikka Stuffed Naan Recipe

Ingredients

For the naan dough:

  • 200g self-raising flour
  • 180g Greek yogurt
  • A pinch of salt

For the chicken tikka filling:

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 300g diced chicken breast
  • 1 tbsp Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp tomato puree
  • Juice of ¼ lemon
  • ¾ tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ⅕ tbsp cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh coriander

Method

  1. Prepare the naan dough: In a bowl, mix yogurt, flour, and salt until a rough dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes until smooth, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes to an hour.
  2. Marinate the chicken: Coat the chicken pieces in yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, tomato puree, spices, and lemon juice. Let it marinate for as long as possible—the longer the marination, the juicier the final dish.
  3. Cook the chicken: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat, add the marinated chicken, and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, allowing the liquid to evaporate. Turn off the heat, stir in cream cheese and coriander, and let it cool.
  4. Assemble the naan pockets: Divide the dough into 6 portions, rolling each into a ball. Flatten each ball on a floured surface, add a spoonful of chicken filling and optional mozzarella, then pinch the edges to seal into a stuffed disc.
  5. Cook to perfection: Heat a dry tawa or pan and cook the stuffed naans for 3 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  6. Final touch: Brush the naans with garlic butter (made by melting butter with garlic and coriander) before serving.

This quick and delicious dish is perfect for Iftar, offering the right balance of protein, flavor, and texture. Enjoy these soft and crispy chicken-stuffed naans without the guilt!
