Realme is gearing up to launch its next-generation performance smartphone, the Realme Neo 8, in China later this month. Positioned as the successor to the Realme Neo 7, the upcoming handset is already creating strong buzz thanks to its flagship-grade Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and a bold new design approach. Official teasers released on Weibo confirm that the device will arrive in a striking Cyber Purple colour option and feature a partially transparent rear panel that reveals select internal components, giving it a futuristic and tech-forward appeal.

The Realme Neo 8 is confirmed to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, placing it among the most powerful Android smartphones of 2026. According to the company, the device has crossed an impressive 3.58 million points on the AnTuTu benchmark, highlighting its strong gaming and multitasking capabilities. This positions the Neo 8 just below Realme’s flagship GT 8 Pro, while still outperforming several rivals using the same chipset.

In terms of photography, Realme has teased a triple rear camera setup on the Neo 8. One of the sensors is said to support up to 120x zoom, strongly indicating the presence of a periscope telephoto lens. The camera module also features Realme’s Awakening Halo lighting system, along with “HYPERIMAGE+” branding, suggesting enhanced image processing and AI-powered photography features. Design markings on the rear further hint at support for NFC connectivity and fast VOOC charging.

While the China launch is officially confirmed, Realme has not yet announced plans for India or other global markets. However, industry leaks suggest that the device could be introduced internationally under a different name, likely as the Realme GT 8. If true, it would slot neatly below the GT 8 Pro in Realme’s premium lineup, offering flagship performance at a more accessible price point.

With a powerful chipset, distinctive transparent design, advanced camera capabilities, and top-tier performance benchmarks, the Realme Neo 8 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated smartphone launches of early 2026.
