Redmi appears to be preparing for the launch of a new entry-level smartphone as the Redmi A7 has now been listed on Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission certification database. The appearance of the handset on an official regulatory website strongly suggests that its market debut is drawing closer.
According to the NBTC listing the Redmi A7 carries the model number 26020RNB4A and has been certified under a valid approval number. The documentation confirms the device name and indicates support for GSM WCDMA and LTE connectivity pointing to the absence of 5G support. The listing also reveals that the handset is manufactured in China although it does not disclose detailed hardware specifications.
Industry speculation suggests that the Redmi A7 may be launched alongside the Redmi A7 Pro as both devices have recently surfaced on multiple certification platforms across different regions. The Pro variant was earlier spotted on regulatory sites in the UAE United States Thailand and Indonesia adding weight to the possibility of a simultaneous announcement.
Leaks indicate that the Redmi A7 could share its core specifications with the Poco C81 Pro positioning it as an affordable smartphone with practical features. The device is rumoured to feature a large 6.9 inch LCD display with HD plus resolution and a high refresh rate for smoother scrolling. Under the hood it may be powered by the Unisoc T7250 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and storage options going up to 128GB.
The handset is also expected to house a sizeable 6000mAh battery with 15W charging support making it suitable for users who prioritise long battery life. If these reports hold true the Redmi A7 could arrive as a notable upgrade over the Redmi A5 offering better performance and endurance in the budget segment.
With certification milestones now completed an official announcement from Redmi could take place in the coming weeks confirming pricing availability and full specifications.
