Samsung has officially unveiled the new Galaxy A17 5G, expanding its A-series lineup with a feature-rich smartphone designed to cater to mid-range users. As the successor to the Galaxy A16 5G, this upgraded model arrives with notable improvements in performance display and camera technology.
Powered by Samsung’s own 5nm Exynos 1330 processor, the Galaxy A17 5G runs One UI 7 based on Android 15 straight out of the box. It boasts a 6.7-inch Full HD Plus Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate, delivering a more fluid user experience whether you’re browsing social media or watching videos.
Design-wise, the phone retains a modern sleek look and carries an IP54 rating, providing resistance against dust and water splashes. The device comes with dual SIM support and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for secure and convenient unlocking.
In terms of camera capabilities, the Galaxy A17 5G includes a dual rear camera system featuring a 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and autofocus, along with a 2-megapixel macro lens. For selfies and video calls, it is equipped with a 13-megapixel front-facing shooter with an f/2.0 aperture.
Under the hood, users can expect configurations with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage, offering ample space for multitasking and app management. The smartphone is backed by a large 5000mAh battery, supporting 25W fast wired charging via USB Type-C to keep you powered throughout the day.
As for connectivity, it supports 5G network bands, Dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 5 and USB Type-C.
The Samsung Galaxy A17 5G is priced at EUR 239 (approx. Rs 24000) for the base model with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. A higher variant with 6GB RAM and 256GB storage is expected to be available soon. The phone is currently open for pre-orders via the official Samsung Store and is offered in black blue and grey colour variants.
