Samsung Galaxy S25 Series to Launch with Snapdragon 8 Elite Across All Models, Sources Suggest

Date:

Samsung Galaxy S25 series is anticipated to launch in early 2025, succeeding the Galaxy S24 lineup. This new series is expected to include the base Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra models. Recent leaks indicate that the upcoming handsets will be slimmer than the current flagship models. A source has revealed details about the chipset powering the new lineup.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is set to be equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. According to a post by a well-known leaker Ice Universe on X, this series will not feature any Exynos 2500 or MediaTek Dimensity 9400 variants, indicating that all models in all markets will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

Currently, the Galaxy S24 series features Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets, though in some markets, including India, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ come with the in-house Exynos 2400 SoC. The new leak suggests that the upcoming Galaxy S25 series will solely use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

Samsung Mobile President TM Roh recently announced at the Snapdragon Summit 2024 that future Samsung handsets will use the newly launched Snapdragon 8 Elite. Although he did not specify which series or models would feature this chipset, it is expected that the flagship S and Z series, including the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold and Flip as well as the Galaxy S25 series, will incorporate this chip.

Previous reports indicate that the Galaxy S25 series phones will be slimmer than their Galaxy S24 counterparts. The base version is expected to measure 146.94×70.46×7.25mm, while the Plus variant may measure 158.44×75.79×7.35mm.

In comparison, the current Galaxy S24 measures 147×70.6×7.6mm, with the Plus and Ultra versions measuring 158.5×75.9×7.7mm and 162.3x79x8.6mm, respectively. Another report suggests that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be available in Black, Blue, Green, and Titanium color options.
