Samsung’s upcoming flagship lineup the Samsung Galaxy S26 series is expected to debut with an upgraded file sharing feature that could allow seamless transfers to Apple devices using AirDrop compatibility. According to recent leaks Samsung may integrate this cross-platform functionality into its existing Samsung Quick Share system marking a significant step toward improved connectivity between Android and Apple ecosystems.

If accurate the Galaxy S26 Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26 Ultra could enable users to send files directly to iPhone iPad and Mac devices that support AirDrop. This would allow Samsung users to share photos videos documents and other content with Apple hardware without relying on third-party apps or cloud transfers.

The feature is reportedly similar to what Google introduced on its Pixel smartphones where Android’s Quick Share was updated to detect and communicate with Apple devices. For file transfers to work recipients would need to set their AirDrop visibility to Everyone making their device discoverable. On the Samsung side users would activate Quick Share from the quick settings panel and enable sharing with Apple devices. During the process the phone may temporarily disconnect from Wi Fi networks while scanning for compatible devices.

In addition to launching on the Galaxy S26 series the functionality could expand to older Samsung smartphones through the anticipated One UI 8.5 software update. If rolled out widely this upgrade would extend cross-platform sharing benefits beyond just the newest flagship models.

Such integration would represent a major advancement in smartphone interoperability particularly as Samsung remains one of the largest Android manufacturers globally. By bridging the gap between Android and Apple file sharing systems the Galaxy S26 series could offer a more flexible and convenient experience for users who frequently interact across different platforms.
