Samsung’s next-generation foldable — the Galaxy Z TriFold — is generating major buzz once again, as a fresh leak suggests the handset could debut with a lower price than early rumours indicated. Initially expected to arrive with an ultra-premium tag, new information hints that Samsung may position its unique triple-folding phone more competitively. The device, first teased during the APEC summit, is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious foldables the company has ever produced.
According to new reports from a reputable South Korean source, the Galaxy Z TriFold may launch at around KRW 3.6 million, a noticeable drop from the previously rumoured KRW 4.4 million. With this adjustment, Samsung appears to be aiming for broader accessibility while still offering a futuristic design featuring dual inward-folding hinges and a three-segment form factor. The device reportedly transforms into a nearly 10-inch display when unfolded, while maintaining a sleek bar-style footprint when closed.
The Galaxy Z TriFold is rumoured to feature powerful hardware including the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, 16GB RAM, a 200MP primary camera, and a 5,437mAh silicon-carbon battery built for endurance. Display specifications may include a 6.54-inch cover screen with up to 2,600 nits brightness and a 9.96-inch internal display offering 1,600 nits for vibrant viewing.
Samsung is reportedly preparing a December launch, with availability expected in select regions including South Korea, China, Singapore, Taiwan, and the UAE. Production may also be limited, with an estimated 20,000–30,000 units planned. With these specs and its unique design, the Galaxy Z TriFold is expected to go head-to-head with competitors like the Huawei Mate XT, Huawei Mate XTs, and concept foldables such as the Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold.
If pricing leaks hold true, Samsung’s new foldable may enter the market at a more appealing value, cementing its place as one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year.
