Young Indian cricket sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continues to dominate bowlers with his fearless batting, but former England fast bowler Steven Finn believes there could be a way to slow him down.

At just 15 years old, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has taken the cricketing world by storm, delivering consistent performances from youth cricket to the biggest stage in the Indian Premier League. With impressive scores including 52 31 39 78 and 46 this season, he has already climbed into the top five of the Orange Cap standings, accumulating 246 runs in just six matches.

Known for his aggressive stroke play, Sooryavanshi has shown the ability to attack all types of bowling. Whether it is pace spin short deliveries or full-length balls, the young batter has demonstrated remarkable control and confidence, making him one of the most difficult players to contain in modern cricket.

Despite his explosive form, Steven Finn suggests that a disciplined and slightly unconventional bowling approach could create opportunities. Speaking on a podcast with Stuart Broad, Finn explained that maintaining a tight line and length initially could restrict scoring areas, especially targeting the stumps and limiting shots on the leg side.

He further proposed mixing in variations after building pressure. According to Finn, introducing a slower wide delivery outside the off stump after a series of accurate balls could tempt the batter into making a mistake. The idea is to disrupt Sooryavanshi’s rhythm rather than relying on traditional tactics.

Even so, Finn admitted that dismissing Vaibhav Sooryavanshi remains extremely challenging, with an element of luck still playing a role given his current form and confidence.

The youngster recently came close to breaking a major record in a match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, where he scored a rapid 78 off just 25 balls. He was within touching distance of surpassing Chris Gayle’s record for the fastest century in IPL history before being dismissed in the closing stages.

With growing calls for his inclusion in the national team, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continues to build his reputation as one of the most exciting young talents in world cricket.
