The much-awaited sequel to the blockbuster 2023 animated hit has begun generating buzz as early screenings of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie took place ahead of its official release. Initial reactions shared on social media suggest a divided response from viewers, with opinions ranging from excitement to mild disappointment.

The film continues the adventures of Mario Luigi and Princess Peach as they take on Bowser once again. This time the villain is joined by Bowser Jr adding a new layer of challenge to their journey. The storyline expands beyond familiar settings and ventures into a galaxy-spanning adventure introducing fresh characters such as Rosalina and the beloved Yoshi.

Returning to voice the iconic characters are Chris Pratt as Mario Anya Taylor Joy as Princess Peach Charlie Day as Luigi Jack Black as Bowser and Keegan Michael Key as Toad. The sequel also brings in new voices including Donald Glover as Yoshi Brie Larson as Rosalina Issa Rae as the Honey Queen Glen Powell as Fox McCloud and Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr.

The movie is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic who also helmed the first installment while the script is written by Matthew Fogel. Despite the mixed early impressions the creators remain optimistic given the massive success of the original film which earned over one billion dollars globally and gained immense popularity among audiences.

While critics have yet to release full reviews anticipation remains high as fans of the franchise look forward to another visually vibrant and action-packed experience when the movie hits theaters on April 1.
