Authorities in Dubai have introduced temporary traffic restrictions near Dubai International Airport after an incident prompted the suspension of flights early Monday morning.
According to Dubai Police, several key roads surrounding the airport have been closed as emergency teams respond to the situation and work to maintain safety in the area.
Flight operations at DXB were halted following guidance issued by the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority. Officials confirmed that the temporary suspension began at approximately 5.29am on Monday March 16 while authorities addressed the incident.
As part of the precautionary measures traffic has been stopped on Airport Road and within the Airport Tunnel. Drivers have been advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes until the restrictions are lifted.
Additional road closures include the Al Garhoud Bridge connecting to Casablanca Street. Motorists travelling in the area have been asked to follow official traffic directions and plan alternative journeys where possible.
Authorities also confirmed closures at several nearby intersections including Cargo Village and Marrakech Street leading towards the airport zone.
Travellers are strongly advised not to travel to DXB until further notice unless they receive direct confirmation from their airline regarding their flight status. Passengers scheduled to depart from the airport should contact their airline for the most recent information about departures and schedule changes.
Officials said updates will be shared through official channels as the situation develops and normal operations are expected to resume once safety checks and response measures are completed.
