The Fourth of July festivities in Sunland-Tujunga took an unexpected turn when actor Danny Trejo found himself in a heated altercation with locals. The incident began when water balloons were thrown at Trejo’s vintage car during the parade, prompting the actor to exit his vehicle and confront the crowd. The situation quickly escalated, leading to a physical brawl captured on video.

Footage shows the 80-year-old Trejo, known for his roles in movies like “Machete” and “Runaway Train,” approaching a man believed to be responsible for the water balloons. An exchange of punches ensued, causing Trejo to fall to the ground before bystanders and security intervened. Although no arrests were made, the scuffle has garnered significant attention online.

In the videos, Trejo can be seen storming out of his vehicle and striking the man, who retaliates, leading to Trejo’s fall. Despite efforts from bystanders to de-escalate the situation, Trejo is later seen grabbing a green folding chair and throwing it towards the crowd. Bystanders’ pleas to stop the fight, especially given the presence of children, went unheeded.

Following the incident, Trejo spoke to TMZ, expressing his disappointment over the event. He condemned the actions of the balloon throwers, describing them as immature and noting that some appeared to be in their thirties or older. Although the altercation did not result in serious injuries, Trejo emphasized his long-standing connection to the parade and lamented how the incident marred the celebrations.
