The smartphone lineup, which includes the Vivo S50 and the S50 Pro Mini, is scheduled to debut in China later this month. Fresh teasers from the company and early online reports reveal that the Vivo S50 will arrive in multiple stylish finishes along with advanced camera capabilities and powerful internal specifications. Speculation also suggests that the handset could be introduced in India as the Vivo V70 with minor region-specific adjustments.
According to Vivo’s latest teasers posted on Weibo, the Vivo S50 will be offered in a Confession White finish, with additional shades expected to include Inspiration Purple Serene Blue and Space Black. These colour options appear to focus on a clean modern aesthetic that aligns with Vivo’s recent design direction. Meanwhile, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini has only been showcased in a purple variant so far, though more choices are expected to be revealed closer to the official launch.
The Vivo S50 is shaping up to be an impressive photography-centric device, featuring a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.95-inch sensor. The phone is also rumoured to include a 50-megapixel Sony LYT700V primary camera equipped with OIS for improved clarity in varied lighting conditions. On the software front, the handset is expected to run OriginOS 6 based on Android 16.
Leaks shared by tech insider Anvin (@ZionsAnvin) indicate that the Vivo S50 may come with a 6.59-inch flat OLED 1.5K display supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. It might be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset along with a configuration of up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and as much as 512GB UFS 4.1 internal storage. A 50-megapixel front camera could handle selfies and video calling, while a substantial 6,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging is expected to enhance daily usability.
The handset may include an aerospace-grade metal frame and is reportedly rated IP68 and IP69 for dust- and water-resistance, offering improved durability. Early reports also suggest that Vivo may launch the S50 globally under the name Vivo V70, similar to how the Vivo V60 was a rebranded version of the Vivo V30. However, official confirmation from the company is still awaited.
