The Vivo S50 series is generating excitement ahead of its confirmed December launch in China. Succeeding the Vivo S30 lineup, the series is expected to include the Vivo S50 and Vivo S50 Pro Mini, with new images and tips revealing its design and key specifications.
Shared by Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao on Weibo, the handset images show a sleek golden design with an all-aerospace-grade aluminium frame manufactured using a satin lithography process. The phones feature a power button and volume controls on the right side, along with two antenna bands. Leaks also suggest a triple rear camera setup housed in a squircle camera module at the top-left corner of the back panel.
The Vivo S50 Pro Mini, codenamed ‘Battle Angel’, is expected to sport a Sony IMX882 1/1.95-inch periscope telephoto sensor with a 50-megapixel resolution, paired with a clear and natural portrait algorithm. Reports indicate the main camera could be a 50-megapixel Sony LYT700V sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS).
Under the hood, the series will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, which recently launched on November 26. Early benchmark results show around 3 million points on AnTuTu, confirming strong performance. Additional specifications include LPDDR5x RAM with a maximum speed of 9,600Mbps and UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring fast multitasking and app performance.
The Vivo S50 series promises to combine premium design with powerful hardware, setting up high expectations among smartphone enthusiasts ahead of its official launch.
