The highly awaited second chapter of Universal’s Wicked movie saga is set to reach cinemas on November 21 and fans eager for an early glimpse will have multiple advance screening options before the official debut. Although the studio has not yet confirmed a streaming date curiosity is growing about when the sequel will land on digital platforms. With no official announcement so far early expectations rely on the release cycle of the first film which launched online roughly four months after its theatrical run suggesting a likely early 2026 online release.

Wicked: For Good continues moments after the events of the 2024 blockbuster Wicked which became the highest grossing Broadway adaptation ever earning more than 756 million dollars worldwide and winning two Oscars from ten nominations. Director Jon Chu explained that the sequel follows Elphaba’s rise after the iconic Defying Gravity finale and shifts into a deeper narrative centered on accountability. Chu describes Part Two as a story grounded in aftermath and emotional impact emphasizing that if the first chapter explored choices this one is about the consequences that follow.

The sequel also introduces two new musical numbers No Place Like Home performed by Cynthia Erivo and The Girl in the Bubble sung by Ariana Grande as confirmed by composer Stephen Schwartz. While streaming plans remain unannounced the pattern from last year indicates a potential digital debut around early 2026. The first film is currently free to stream for Prime Video subscribers and remains available for purchase across platforms like Apple TV+ YouTube Comcast Xfinity and others.

Ahead of the theatrical release several special screenings are taking place including an Amazon Prime early event on November 17 immersive premium format previews on November 19 and a double feature of Wicked and Wicked: For Good on November 20. The returning cast features Ariana Grande as Glinda Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba alongside Jonathan Bailey Jeff Goldblum Michelle Yeoh Ethan Slater Bowen Yang Keala Settle Marissa Bode Bronwyn James Aaron Teoh and Colin Michael Carmichael. Tickets are already live across individual cinema websites with Universal yet to confirm extended runs for premium formats. For now the sequel remains exclusive to theaters marking the more intense emotional half of the two part adaptation.
