Gamers could soon get their hands on the highly anticipated Xbox-branded ROG Ally handheld gaming devices, as new leaks point towards an October 16, 2025 launch in Europe. The ROG Ally and its high-performance sibling, the ROG Ally X, developed in collaboration between Microsoft and Asus, were first showcased during the Xbox Games Showcase in June. These Windows-powered gaming handhelds aim to combine Xbox’s ecosystem with Asus’s ROG technology to deliver a portable yet powerful gaming experience.
A trusted source, Billbil-kun from Dealabs, revealed that the European release is set for mid-October, with Microsoft expected to confirm the date during Gamescom 2025, starting August 20. Both devices will be available for hands-on trials at the event, where visitors can play titles such as Hollow Knight: Silksong, Roblox, Sea of Thieves, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. Xbox’s Gamescom live broadcast will air on August 20 at 6 am PT (6:30 pm IST), where pre-orders are also rumored to open immediately for European customers.
According to earlier leaks, the ROG Ally will reportedly be priced at EUR 599 (around ₹60,400), while the more advanced ROG Ally X will retail for EUR 899 (around ₹90,700) in Europe. At launch, these devices will be available in Australia, France, Japan, Singapore, the UK, the US, and over 20 other regions, with additional markets — including India — expected to follow.
Under the hood, the ROG Ally features an AMD Ryzen Z2 processor with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, while the ROG Ally X boasts the Ryzen Z2 Extreme chipset, 24GB RAM, and a spacious 1TB storage. Both models will run a custom Windows interface with a full-screen Xbox experience designed to make PC gaming on a handheld more seamless. While they won’t directly run Xbox console games, users can enjoy titles from major PC game storefronts like Steam, Epic Games Store, and EA App.
