Xiaomi has officially introduced the Xiaomi 17 in India alongside its premium sibling Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The flagship smartphone arrives with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and a Leica-engineered triple camera system designed to deliver high-end photography performance.
The new device is priced at Rs 89,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. Another version with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage is available for Rs 99,999. Customers will be able to purchase the phone beginning March 18 through Amazon, the official Xiaomi India website and authorised retail outlets.
The smartphone will be available in three colour options including Black Ice Blue and Venture Green. As part of the company’s launch promotion buyers can upgrade to the 512GB model while paying the price of the 256GB version under the special Never Run Out offer. Early Bird buyers between March 13 and March 17 will also receive a phone damage protection plan valued at Rs 9,999.
The Xiaomi 17 features a 6.3 inch CrystalRes OLED display offering a resolution of 2656 by 1220 pixels with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The screen supports a peak brightness of 3500 nits along with HDR10 Plus and Dolby Vision for enhanced visuals. It also includes certifications from TUV Rheinland for reduced blue light and flicker free viewing.
Powering the smartphone is the 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor paired with an Adreno GPU and Qualcomm AI Engine. The phone supports up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. It runs on Android 16 based HyperOS 3 and includes several AI tools such as AI Writing AI Speech Recognition AI Interpreter AI Search and Circle to Search powered by Google Gemini.
For photography the Xiaomi 17 includes a Leica tuned triple rear camera setup with Summilux lenses. The system consists of a 50 megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation a 50 megapixel telephoto camera with 60mm focal length and a 50 megapixel ultra wide lens with a 102 degree field of view. The smartphone also features a 50 megapixel autofocus front camera for selfies and video calls. The rear camera system supports 8K video recording at 30 frames per second and 4K recording at 60 frames per second.
The device packs a 6330mAh battery that supports 100W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless charging. Additional features include Wi Fi 7 Bluetooth 6 NFC stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and a four microphone array. The handset also includes an ultrasonic in display fingerprint scanner and AI powered face unlock for security.
With an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance the Xiaomi 17 is built to handle everyday usage while offering premium performance. The smartphone measures 151.1 by 71.8 by 8.06 mm and weighs 191 grams making it both powerful and compact for flagship users.
