Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in China, the latest flagship in its smartphone lineup. The new model succeeds the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, offering upgrades in performance, camera technology, battery, and design. Powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset built on a 3nm process, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra delivers top-tier processing power and graphics performance with its Adreno 840 GPU.
The device features a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel main LOFIC Omnivision 1050L sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 ultrawide camera, and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens supporting 3.2x to 4.3x optical zoom. Users can record up to 8K video, while selfies are captured via a 50-megapixel OV50M front camera. The phone sports a 6.9-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, Dragon Crystal Glass 3 protection, and peak brightness of 1,060 nits.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra is available in Black, White, Cold Smoky Purple, and Starry Green, with storage options ranging from 12GB RAM + 512GB to 16GB RAM + 1TB. The Leica Edition is also offered in premium variants. Battery capacity is 6,800mAh with 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, USB Type-C, NFC, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. The phone has IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, weighs 224g, and measures 8.29mm thick. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra will go on sale on December 27 via the official Xiaomi online store in China.
