Xiaomi’s popular T-series smartphones could be arriving much earlier this year if new leaks are anything to go by. Fresh reports suggest that the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro are progressing faster than previous generations, hinting at a significantly advanced launch timeline compared to the usual September window. Alongside this shift, new information has emerged about the internal codenames model numbers and processors powering the upcoming devices.
According to leaks shared on Chinese social media platform Weibo, the Xiaomi 17T lineup may debut as early as May. This would mark a major change in Xiaomi’s release strategy as the Xiaomi 15T and 14T series were both introduced in September of their respective years. The early rollout suggests Xiaomi is aiming to accelerate its mid premium smartphone cycle in 2026.
The standard Xiaomi 17T is said to carry the global model number 2602DPT53G and is internally codenamed Chagall. The Xiaomi 17T Pro on the other hand reportedly bears the model number 2602EPTC0G with the codename Warhol. Both smartphones are expected to bring noticeable gains in performance and battery endurance when compared to their predecessors while camera upgrades are believed to be more incremental.
On the hardware front the Xiaomi 17T is tipped to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset. The higher end Xiaomi 17T Pro could be powered by the more advanced Dimensity 9500 SoC positioning it as a performance focused device. Previous rumours also suggest that the Pro variant may include an IP68 and IP69 rated body a large 8500mAh battery with 100W fast charging and active cooling via built in fans.
If the leaks prove accurate the Xiaomi 17T series could represent one of the most ambitious upgrades in the brand’s T-series lineup delivering faster performance bigger batteries and an earlier than expected launch window.
