Fresh leaks suggest that Xiaomi and Vivo are already preparing their next flagship smartphones months ahead of their expected debut. According to industry tipsters, the Xiaomi 18 series and the Vivo X500 lineup are likely to launch in China around September 2026, even as current-generation models continue rolling out globally.

The upcoming Xiaomi 18 range is expected to succeed the Xiaomi 17 series, which debuted in September 2025. Reports indicate that Xiaomi may introduce three models once again, including Xiaomi 18, Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. These handsets are tipped to be powered by Qualcomm’s next flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Pro, which has not yet been officially announced. If true, the Xiaomi 18 series could be among the first smartphones to feature the new chipset.

On the Vivo side, leaks point to a notable expansion of its flagship portfolio. Unlike the current Vivo X300 lineup, which includes only standard and Pro variants, the Vivo X500 series is said to feature three models: Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro and a new Vivo X500 Pro Max. The series is expected to be powered by MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9600 family of processors, positioning Vivo as a key partner for MediaTek’s next-generation silicon.

The Vivo X300 and X300 Pro, launched in India in December 2025, currently run on the Dimensity 9500 chipset built on a 3nm process. They feature AMOLED displays with high refresh rates and premium pricing. With the X500 series, Vivo appears set to push performance and lineup diversity even further.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17 series, launched in China last year, introduced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processors and unique rear-mounted secondary displays on select models. Building on that momentum, the Xiaomi 18 series is expected to deliver further refinements in performance, efficiency and flagship features.

While neither Xiaomi nor Vivo has officially confirmed launch dates or specifications, these early leaks suggest that September 2026 could be a major month for flagship smartphone launches from both brands.
