Xiaomi has unveiled its financial report for the first quarter of 2025, showcasing a robust revenue figure of Rs 1.31 lakh crore for the period of January to March. This marks the second quarter in a row where the Chinese electronics giant has surpassed the Rs 1.2 lakh crore benchmark. The company reported a remarkable 47.4 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth in revenue, alongside a record-setting adjusted net profit of Rs 12,680 crore, reflecting a YoY rise of 64.5 percent.
The growth has been attributed to Xiaomi’s focused premiumisation strategy, which involves shifting from low-cost to high-end offerings across its product range. According to the company’s statement, this strategy paid off in Q1 2025 with significant consumer acceptance for newly launched premium products. Notably, smartphone sales reached Rs 59,961 crore, up 8.9 percent YoY. A major contributor was the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, launched in February, which outperformed its predecessor with a 90 percent increase in sales during the same period last year. This surge also drove the average selling price (ASP) of smartphones to an all-time high of Rs 14,372.
Xiaomi’s IoT and smart home product category recorded an impressive 58.7 percent YoY growth, generating Rs 38,276 crore in revenue. Among the standout products were the company’s washing machines and refrigerators. In the EV and AI segment, Xiaomi earned Rs 22,041 crore, largely propelled by its SU7 Series electric vehicles which shipped 75,869 units in Q1 2025.
In terms of smartphone shipments, Xiaomi revealed that it delivered 4.18 crore units globally in Q1 2025, maintaining its streak of YoY growth for the seventh consecutive quarter. As per data from Canalys, now operating under Omdia, Xiaomi remained among the top three global smartphone vendors for the nineteenth quarter running, holding a market share of 14.1 percent.
Air conditioner shipments saw a remarkable increase of 65 percent YoY, crossing 11 lakh units. The company also reported refrigerator shipments at 8.8 lakh units and washing machine shipments at 7.4 lakh units. Xiaomi’s tablet segment experienced 56.1 percent YoY growth, although exact figures were not disclosed.
On the connected ecosystem front, Xiaomi stated that 1.93 crore users now have five or more devices linked to its AIoT platform (excluding laptops, tablets, and smartphones), a growth of 26.5 percent YoY. Furthermore, Mi Home App monthly active users grew by 19.5 percent to 10.64 crore, while AI Assistant users climbed 17.5 percent to 14.67 crore.
These developments underscore Xiaomi’s successful transition towards a premium-focused strategy and its expansion across smartphones, smart home devices, EVs, and AI-powered ecosystems, contributing significantly to its record-setting Q1 performance.
