Xiaomi is gearing up to refresh its foldable smartphone lineup with the anticipated launch of the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2, likely to happen by the end of June 2025. Teased recently by Xiaomi’s Marketing General Manager Siqi Wei, the Mix Flip 2 will serve as the successor to the original Xiaomi Mix Flip, which debuted in July 2024. The upcoming clamshell foldable is expected to launch alongside the Redmi K80 Ultra and a new Redmi gaming tablet.

Xiaomi’s President Lu Weibing reportedly held a feedback session with users of the first-generation Mix Flip, indicating that the company has gathered insights on what worked and what could be improved. This suggests the Mix Flip 2 will bring refined features and design enhancements based on user feedback.

According to reliable tipster Smart Pikachu, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 will feature a thinner and lighter design, reportedly measuring 7.6mm when unfolded and weighing approximately 190g—slightly slimmer than its predecessor. The device is also expected to house a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, making it a high-performance contender in the foldable phone segment.

The Mix Flip 2 will likely feature a 6.85-inch 1.5K LTPO OLED foldable display with a 120Hz refresh rate. For durability, it may offer IPX8 water resistance and feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for quick biometric authentication.

On the camera front, Xiaomi is expected to equip the Mix Flip 2 with dual 50MP outward-facing sensors, including an ultrawide camera. Powering the foldable will likely be a 5,100mAh battery, supported by 67W wired fast charging, allowing for rapid top-ups even on busy days.

Unlike previous years, Xiaomi is reportedly skipping a book-style foldable in 2025, focusing instead on optimizing the clamshell design with the Mix Flip 2. The device has already appeared on China’s 3C certification website, adding credibility to the rumors of an imminent release.

As fans await official confirmation, expectations remain high that the Mix Flip 2 will offer substantial improvements over the first-gen device, including better battery life, processing power, and a sleeker build. The June launch event is expected to unveil not just the Mix Flip 2 but also the Redmi K80 Ultra and Redmi’s new gaming tablet.
