Xiaomi has officially launched the YU7 electric SUV in China, marking its third venture into the electric vehicle market following the debut of the SU7 and SU7 Ultra models. Unveiled during the company’s “Human x Car x Home” event, the Xiaomi YU7 aims to compete directly with the Tesla Model Y in the booming Chinese EV market. The YU7 will be available in three variants—Standard, Pro, and Max—and offers buyers a premium blend of style, power, and range.

The Xiaomi YU7’s pricing in China begins at CNY 2,53,500 (approximately ₹30 lakh) for the Standard variant, which features an ultra-long-range rear-wheel-drive system. The mid-tier Pro version is priced at CNY 2,79,900 (around ₹33 lakh), while the high-end Max version is set at CNY 3,29,900 (roughly ₹39 lakh). Customers can choose from three striking exterior colors: Emerald Green, Titanium Silver, and Lava Orange. Interior options include Pine Gray, Coral Orange, and Twilight Blue.

Inspired by Xiaomi’s SU7 design language, the YU7 SUV introduces a bold new look with hollowed-out headlamps providing a 180-degree ultra-wide-angle beam and a unique rear halo tail light. The SUV measures 4,999mm in length, 1,996mm in width, and 1,600mm in height, with a 3,000mm wheelbase and a curb weight of 2,405kg. Xiaomi claims the EV has undergone more than 50 safety development tests and meets rigorous standards under C-NCAP and C-IASI protocols.

Performance-wise, the YU7 is powered by the Xiaomi HyperEngine V6s Plus motor, featuring enhanced power modules and optimized torque delivery. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.23 seconds, delivering a top speed of 253 kmph. The EV boasts a maximum output of 690 PS and 508 kW of peak power.

Battery options are equally impressive. The base model carries a 96.3kWh battery providing a CLTC-rated range of 835km, while the Max variant is fitted with a 101.7kWh pack offering up to 770km. Fast charging capabilities are among the best in class, with the ability to charge from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes and gain 620km of range with 15 minutes of charging thanks to the 800V silicon carbide platform.

The Xiaomi YU7 also integrates high-end hardware like Brembo’s four-piston brake calipers, a four-layer braking safety system, front double wishbone and rear five-link suspension, and the company’s intelligent chassis system. It’s a complete package for those seeking high-performance EVs with long-range and luxury features.
