On her Instagram post dated August 26, Yasmin encouraged followers to enjoy Ganesh Chaturthi mindfully with her easy sugar-free modak recipe. Here’s how you can make it at home:
Ingredients:
- A handful of cashews
- A handful of almonds
- A handful of walnuts
- A handful of pistachios
- 6–8 dates (adjust quantity based on size)
- Soaked figs (soak in water for 5 mins before use)
- Ghee (optional, for richness)
- Rose petals (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for crunch)
Method:
- Roast the nuts for a few minutes until fragrant.
- Blend nuts with soaked figs and dates to form a smooth dough.
- Grease a modak mould with ghee, sprinkle sesame seeds and rose petals at the base.
- Fill with nut mixture and press firmly.
- Freeze for 10–15 minutes, then demould to get perfect sugar-free modaks.
