Jude Bellingham’s Decisive Goal Lifts Real Madrid Ahead of El Clasico

Date:

Jude Bellingham’s first goal of the season helped Real Madrid secure a crucial 1-0 victory over Juventus in the UEFA Champions League, maintaining their flawless record in the tournament. The English midfielder’s strike not only boosted team morale but also sent a strong message to Barcelona, their upcoming rivals in the much-anticipated El Clasico, and to England manager Thomas Tuchel ahead of international fixtures against Serbia and Albania.

Speaking after the match, Bellingham said, “I felt comfortable, really good,” reflecting on a performance that saw him deliver a clinical finish in the 57th minute. His goal came after Vinicius Jr created space to shoot, with Bellingham reacting first to a rebound off the post to slot the winner. This moment reaffirmed his influence in Madrid’s midfield and attacking transitions.

After recovering from a shoulder injury that had sidelined him earlier in the season, Bellingham looked sharp and confident, creating multiple chances and linking well with Kylian Mbappe, whose attempts were denied by Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio. Real coach Xabi Alonso praised his midfielder, saying, “I am very happy for Jude. After the injury, he needed a good game, and tonight he proved his quality again.”

Real Madrid are currently in a transition phase, with several senior players — including Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, and Nacho — having left the club. Alonso has introduced young talents such as Franco Mastantuono, Dean Huijsen, and Trent Alexander-Arnold into the squad, implementing a rotation policy to balance performance and development. Despite a shaky start to the season and injuries to key defenders like Carvajal and Alexander-Arnold, Real’s resilience continues to shine.

Thibaut Courtois, who celebrated his 300th appearance for Real, produced crucial saves to maintain his 119th clean sheet. “It was a tough match with chances on both ends, but it’s an important win against a strong opponent,” he told Movistar.

As the Champions League group stage continues, Real’s dominant run not only solidifies their knockout qualification but also sets the tone for their upcoming domestic challenges, especially the clash against Barcelona in El Clasico.
