2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix: A Historic Event in F1 as Hamilton Bids Farewell to Mercedes

Date:

Buckle up, motorsport enthusiasts! The 2024 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is on the horizon, promising to be a landmark event. This year’s race isn’t just another competition — it marks the end of an era as Lewis Hamilton bids farewell to Mercedes AMG Petronas.

At the Yas Marina Circuit, Hamilton’s final race with Mercedes will unfold, making it a pivotal moment in F1 history. Fresh off a thrilling victory at Silverstone, where he narrowly defeated Max Verstappen, Hamilton’s last race with Mercedes promises to be an epic spectacle.

Lewis Hamilton, renowned for his speed, skill, and relentless drive, ended a three-year winless streak with his ninth triumph at Silverstone. This victory sets the stage for his grand finale in Abu Dhabi before he transitions to Ferrari in 2025.

Hamilton’s departure from Mercedes, a partnership that yielded six Drivers’ Championships, will be an emotional milestone, making the 2024 Abu Dhabi GP an event not to miss.

For those with tickets, the excitement extends beyond the racetrack. The Yasalam After-Race Concerts are returning, featuring headliners like Eminem, Maroon 5, and Muse, promising unforgettable entertainment.

Ticket holders will also enjoy complimentary access to Yas Island’s top attractions, including Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World, Yas Waterworld, Seaworld Abu Dhabi, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and Qasr Al Watan.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix attracts fans globally. Last year, 65 percent of the 170,000 attendees were international visitors. With a 40 percent increase in travelers to Abu Dhabi last year, the Yas Marina Circuit is set for an electrifying atmosphere.

This F1 season has been full of surprises, with Ferrari achieving a rare 1-2 finish in Australia, and victories shared among Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes, keeping the competition fierce.

In addition to Hamilton’s farewell, Carlos Sainz will also race his last with Ferrari, adding to the emotional drama.

Tickets are selling fast, with three-day passes for the Main, West, and North Grandstands already sold out. However, excellent vantage points like Abu Dhabi Hill, Horizon 360, and the North and West Straight Grandstands are still available. For a premium experience, options like the Luna Lounge, Deck at Nine, and Suite at One offer top-tier hospitality.

The weekend will also feature support races from Formula 2, Formula 4, and the F1 Academy, where local stars Hamda and Amna Al Qubaisi will compete. It’s a true celebration of motorsport.

Prices start from Dhs750 for general admission, from Dhs1,625 for grandstand tickets, and from Dhs1,375 for hospitality packages. For more information, visit abudhabigp.com.
