Motorola has unveiled the Edge 70 in select international markets, expanding its Edge lineup with a premium lightweight design and a focus on power efficiency. Measuring just 5.99mm thick and weighing 159g, the new Motorola Edge 70 offers one of the slimmest smartphones currently available and aims to compete with premium models such as the Galaxy S25 Edge and iPhone Air.
The device is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage for smooth performance. It features a 6.67-inch pOLED Super HD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certification, up to 4,500 nits peak brightness, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and Gorilla Glass 7i protection.
The Motorola Edge 70 includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS and a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens offering a dedicated 3-in-1 light sensor. On the front, users get a 50-megapixel camera for high-resolution selfies and video calls.
As for durability, the handset features aircraft-grade aluminium construction and carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. It also supports Motorola’s ThinkShield security suite and comes equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner and facial recognition.
Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, GPS, Galileo, NFC, and USB Type-C. Dual stereo speakers support Dolby Atmos audio enhancement.
The Edge 70 runs Android 16 out of the box and is promised security updates through June 2031. It is backed by a 4,800mAh Silicon-Carbon battery with 68W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging. Motorola claims the battery can play video continuously for up to 29 hours and provide up to 66 hours of audio streaming on one charge.
Motorola has priced the Edge 70 at GBP 700 in the UK. In Europe and the Middle East, the smartphone begins at EUR 799. It will be offered in Pantone Bronze Green, Pantone Lily Pad, and Gadget Grey color options with a wider global rollout expected later.
