Wicked For Good Team Reveals Two New Songs with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo

Date:

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have offered fans an exciting musical preview from the upcoming sequel Wicked For Good during NBC’s One Wonderful Night special. The actresses, who return as Glinda and Elphaba, performed small sections of two brand-new songs that will be featured in the highly anticipated continuation of the Wicked franchise. Their performance follows the film’s latest trailer reveal, which showcased rising tension between the iconic characters.

The musical fantasy film once again features direction by Jon M Chu as well as the return of major cast members including Michelle Yeoh and Jonathan Bailey. The sneak peek served as a celebration for fans eager to see how the story evolves after the success of the first movie adaptation.

During the event, Ariana Grande performed lines from Glinda’s new solo track titled The Girl in the Bubble, which reflects her character’s emotional struggle and shifting loyalties. Cynthia Erivo then took the stage to preview No Place Like Home, a heartfelt ballad expressing Elphaba’s complicated love for Oz despite the hardships she has endured. Both songs were created by celebrated lyricist Stephen Schwartz, continuing the musical legacy of the franchise.

Cast members Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, and Marissa Bode also made appearances, giving audiences an inside look at the film’s elaborate Land of Oz themed sets. The special highlighted the detailed world-building and strong character focus that fans can expect in the new chapter.

The original Wicked film achieved major critical and commercial success with multiple Academy Award nominations and a worldwide box office total of 750 million dollars, becoming the highest-grossing stage-to-screen musical adaptation. In the upcoming sequel, the story will follow Elphaba as she continues her mission to protect the animals of Oz while Glinda rises as a glamorous figure of hope in Emerald City. Wicked For Good is scheduled to release in theatres on November 21.
