Doctor Reveals Essential Foods for Daily Nutrition and Better Long-Term Health

A leading health expert has shared simple yet powerful dietary recommendations to help people meet their daily nutrient requirements without following strict diets or eliminating foods they enjoy. Highlighting how many individuals unknowingly miss out on vital vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and healthy fats, the doctor emphasises that balanced eating is more about proportion than restriction.

In a recent social media post, Dr Kunal Sood, an anesthesiologist and interventional pain medicine specialist, explained that the human body functions best when provided with a wide variety of nutrients. He notes that balanced meals support immunity, energy levels, and long-term wellness, making everyday food choices extremely important.

Dr Sood recommends adding leafy greens such as spinach, kale, and Swiss chard to daily meals. These vegetables are high in vitamins A C K and B-complex along with fibre and potassium. According to him, regularly eating leafy greens is linked to improved cardiovascular health lower stroke risk and better overall nutrient intake.

He also highlights nuts and seeds as valuable sources of healthy fats essential for brain and heart function. Ingredients like almonds walnuts flaxseeds and chia seeds offer plant-based omega-3s minerals and fibre which can support better cholesterol levels and reduce inflammation.

To strengthen antioxidant intake the physician advises consuming a variety of colourful fruits. The natural pigments found in berries citrus fruits and other vibrant produce contain powerful antioxidants such as flavonoids anthocyanins and carotenoids which help protect cells from oxidative stress and support heart health.

Dr Sood stresses that mindful portion control plays a crucial role in building sustainable eating patterns. He encourages a practical approach: filling half the plate with fruits and vegetables one-quarter with whole grains and one-quarter with lean protein while including healthy oils in moderation. This balanced structure supports both nutrition and overall wellbeing.

He concludes that combining leafy greens nuts and seeds colourful fruits and mindful portions creates a simple and achievable eating routine that promotes long-term health without unnecessary dietary restrictions.
