Mohamed Salah Blasts Liverpool Management After Shock Benching in Premier League Clash

Date:

Mohamed Salah has ignited major controversy at Liverpool after delivering a fiery outburst against the club’s management following their dramatic 3-3 draw with Leeds United. The Egyptian forward, who watched the match from the sidelines for the third consecutive time, expressed deep frustration over what he described as broken promises, deteriorating relationships, and a sense of being “sacrificed” during the team’s poor run of form this season.

Liverpool, last season’s Premier League champions, have endured a difficult start to the 2025–26 campaign, sitting eighth in the table with 22 points from 15 games and suffering six defeats already. Amid this turbulent stretch, Salah’s absence from the starting lineup has raised eyebrows across the football world.

After the Leeds match, the 33-year-old stormed into the mixed zone and openly criticized the club’s decision-makers, stating that he felt unfairly blamed for the Reds’ struggles. He admitted that his once-strong rapport with manager Arne Slot had faded to “non-existent,” leaving him confused and disappointed. Salah said he had received several assurances during the summer, only to find himself benched repeatedly early in the season.

Salah stressed that he felt disrespected despite his contributions, especially last season when he played a significant role in Liverpool’s title win. He suggested that someone within the club “did not want him there anymore,” fueling speculation about internal tensions.

The forward also hinted at a possible exit, revealing that he was unsure whether he would play in Liverpool’s upcoming match against Brighton and that he planned to cherish the moment at Anfield before leaving for the Africa Cup of Nations. He explained that he “no longer understood” why the club was treating him differently and emphasized that he deserved protection and respect for his long-standing service.

Salah concluded that while he was not bigger than the club, his track record had earned him his place, insisting that he should not have to fight daily for a position he had already proven he deserved.
