Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya not only lit up the Narendra Modi Stadium with a blistering innings but also won hearts with a thoughtful gesture off the field. During India’s explosive batting display in Ahmedabad, Pandya unintentionally struck a boundary-line cameraman on the arm with a powerful flat six. The incident happened while the camera operator was filming close to the ropes, reminding everyone of the risks faced by broadcast crews during high-intensity matches.
After the Indian innings concluded, Pandya personally walked over to the cameraman to ensure he was okay. He carefully examined the bruise, helped apply an ice pack provided by the medical staff, and warmly embraced the cameraman as an apology. The moment, captured on camera, highlighted Pandya’s humility and concern, turning an unfortunate accident into a touching display of sportsmanship.
On the field, Pandya was equally impactful. He smashed 63 runs off just 25 balls, striking five towering sixes to propel India past the 200-run mark. Partnering with Tilak Varma, who scored a fluent 73 off 42 balls, Pandya added crucial momentum in the middle and death overs, guiding India to a formidable total of 231 for 5. Later, he contributed with the ball as well, dismissing Dewald Brevis during South Africa’s chase as India wrapped up the T20I series with a convincing 3-1 victory.
