Kit Harington recently shared his thoughts on the controversial final season of Game of Thrones, expressing his understanding of why fans were disappointed with how the series concluded. In a candid interview with British GQ, the actor, known for his role as Jon Snow, admitted that the show’s ending may have felt hurried due to the cast and crew’s exhaustion after years of production.
Harington acknowledged the mixed reactions to the show’s eighth season, stating, “If there’s one thing to say about the conclusion of Thrones, it’s that we were all completely worn out. I understand why some viewers felt it was rushed, and I might even agree with them. But looking back, I’m not sure there was any other way. I see photos of myself from that last season, and I look utterly drained. I didn’t have another season in me.”
Despite the divisive finale, the Game of Thrones universe continues to expand. While Harington’s proposed spinoff centered on Jon Snow has been put on hold due to story development challenges, HBO remains committed to the franchise. The latest installment, House of the Dragon, has received a mix of praise and criticism, with its second season wrapping up earlier this month. Additionally, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight has been announced and is currently in development.
