The WTA 500 event is set to take place from Saturday, January 31 to Saturday, February 7 at the International Tennis Centre in Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi. After a record-breaking 2025 edition that saw eight players from the world’s top 20 compete, the tournament is expected to bring even more excitement and elite-level tennis this year.

Top names expected to feature in the 2026 edition include world number 5 and Wimbledon 2022 champion Elena Rybakina, Filipino rising star Alexandra Eala, and the defending champion Belinda Bencic. The tournament will showcase leading singles and doubles players from the women’s circuit, offering high-quality matches and thrilling competition throughout the week.

Beyond the on-court action, the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open has gained a reputation for its lively atmosphere and family-friendly experience. The popular Fan Village will return, offering gourmet food options, live entertainment, and interactive activities between matches. Kids can enjoy free entry for the first five days, and adult tickets start at just Dhs25, making the event accessible for everyone. Day one is free for all attendees, creating the perfect opportunity for families to experience world-class tennis without breaking the bank.

The Fan Village will also host a range of family games, including Giant Jenga, 4 in a Row, and a Grand Slam Arcade, as well as tennis-themed workshops and activities. The Village Stage will feature the official Draw Ceremony, where a top WTA player will announce the first-round matchups. Additionally, this year’s tournament will introduce wheelchair tennis to the event, allowing fans to witness inspiring performances from elite wheelchair athletes.

Nigel Gupta, Tournament Director at MARI, highlighted the inclusive nature of the event, emphasizing that it offers much more than top-tier tennis. With the addition of the Road to MADO showcase for young talent, the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open continues to position itself as a must-attend event for both tennis fans and families looking for a fun day out. Tickets are now available, starting from Dhs25 per person.
