Xiaomi 15 Ultra Rumored to Launch with Ceramic, Glass, and Faux Leather Back Panel Choices

Date:

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to be released in early 2025, with the company likely to follow its previous flagship phone release schedule. Though Xiaomi has yet to confirm details about a successor to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, a Chinese tipster has hinted at significant features of the upcoming device. According to reports, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra might be available with three distinct rear panel materials, including ceramic, glass, and faux leather. The phone is also expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s rumored Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, potentially offering a 2K resolution display with micro-curved edges on all sides.

Leaked information from Digital Chat Station on Weibo suggests that users will have the option to choose between ceramic, glass, and faux leather for the rear panel of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. The current Xiaomi 14 Ultra features an aluminum frame and a vegan leather back panel.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is rumored to be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset and could showcase an ‘ultra-narrow equal-depth quad-curved screen’ with a 2K resolution. Additionally, it is speculated that the phone will have a circular camera island similar to that of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The quad-camera setup might include a 50-megapixel primary sensor along with a new periscope camera.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra, launched at MWC 2024 in February, became available in the Indian market shortly after, with a price tag of ₹99,999 for the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. Xiaomi is expected to stick to a similar Q1 launch timeline for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra operates on Android 14-based HyperOS and is equipped with a 6.73-inch WQHD+ LTPO AMOLED micro-curved display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,000 nits peak brightness. The device features a quad-camera setup with four 50-megapixel sensors, and it is powered by a 5,000mAh battery supporting 90W wired, 80W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging. Additionally, it boasts an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
