Tur Dal Khichdi Recipe for Weight Loss
Ingredients Serves 2
Tur dal arhar dal – half cup
Rice – quarter cup
Water – three cups
Ghee – one teaspoon
Cumin seeds – half teaspoon
Asafoetida hing – a pinch
Turmeric powder – quarter teaspoon
Grated ginger – one teaspoon
Salt – as required
Mixed vegetables optional carrot beans bottle gourd – half cup
Chopped coriander leaves – one tablespoon
Method
Wash tur dal and rice together until the water becomes clear
Heat ghee in a pressure cooker on medium flame
Add cumin seeds and allow them to crackle
Add hing and ginger and sauté briefly
Mix in turmeric powder and vegetables if using
Add the washed dal and rice and stir gently
Pour in water add salt and close the lid
Pressure cook for three whistles on medium heat
