Doctor Highlights 3 Powerful Indian Herbs That Help Reduce Stress Improve Sleep and Boost Immunity

Traditional herbs have played an important role in wellness practices across India for generations. Many of these natural ingredients can still be found in everyday kitchens and are valued for their wide range of health benefits. According to Dr Shubham Vatsya, several commonly used herbs may help support overall health including stress management immunity and energy levels.

The doctor who works at Fortis Hospital Vasant Kunj recently shared insights about three traditional herbs that are often underestimated despite their potential health benefits. These plant based remedies have long been used in natural wellness traditions and continue to attract interest from modern health experts.

Ashwagandha

One of the most well known herbs in traditional medicine is Ashwagandha. According to Dr Vatsya this herb may help lower cortisol levels which are associated with stress. By reducing stress hormones it can help support better sleep quality and improve relaxation.

He also explained that ashwagandha may assist with muscle recovery support memory function and help regulate blood sugar levels naturally. Because of these properties the herb is often used in wellness supplements and traditional health practices.

Tulsi

Another powerful herb mentioned by the doctor is Tulsi, also known as holy basil. Tulsi is widely respected in traditional Indian households for its medicinal qualities.

Dr Vatsya highlighted that tulsi contains strong antimicrobial and adaptogenic properties. These properties may help strengthen the immune system support respiratory health and reduce symptoms such as sore throat. Tulsi is also believed to promote mental clarity reduce stress and help manage inflammation within the body.

Moringa

The third herb discussed by the doctor is Moringa oleifera, often called a nutrient rich superfood. Moringa leaves contain a wide range of vitamins minerals antioxidants and all nine essential amino acids making it a valuable addition to a balanced diet.

According to Dr Vatsya moringa may help maintain heart health support energy levels regulate blood sugar and even assist in preventing anaemia. The plant is also known for its anti inflammatory and antioxidant properties which may contribute to overall wellbeing.

Health experts note that these herbs have been used in traditional practices for centuries and continue to be explored for their potential health benefits. However individuals should always consult qualified medical professionals before using herbal remedies as part of their health routine.
